This book is exactly what's described in the description here: A comical take on the traditional baby's memories book. For someone who was a little overwhelmed at the amount of stuff out there that's targeted towards new parents (read: designed to guilt new parents into buying their schlock so you don't feel like you're neglecting your child), this book was a breath of fresh air. Realisitically, neither I nor my wife would have ever completely made use of a straightforward baby memories book, and in fact, I have yet to meet anyone who actually did. This book, on the other hand, is entertaining by itself so you don't feel that its purchase was a complete waste even if you never fill in any of its pages.Some gems from the pages include: "Diameter of baby's head" followed thereafter by "Diameter of hole baby's head came through." There are places to record baby's first projectile vomit, and even baby's first DWI. There's even a ledger of expenses you can fill out which start out with hospital expenses and even include cost of spring break, cost of first auto repair, and cost of "finding oneself".This is funny, funny stuff. It's not intended to be a serious memory book for any child, but it provided me, a parent, with plenty of giggles.
I can't figure out if this is just a cute idea for a book, or if I'm actually supposed to write in dates and information like a real memory book. Some of the topics are sooooo far out there, it made me think that this is just an idea for a silly/fun gift. Way more fun in theory than in practice. Not sure I'll use it.
This book has been a must buy gift for all of my friends and family members who have had children or who are expecting, everyone always gets a kick out of it and I like to think that somewhere down the road my nieces and nephews might enjoy reading it and laughing about the funny and disgusting things they put their family through. It definitely brings a much needed sense of humor to baby books! Because we all know that its not always about the adorable things children do that make us laugh.
I was looking for a non "mainstream" baby book and was so excited when I saw this. When I received it, I was I awe of the stupidity and overall ridiculousness of it. It was condescending on so many levels, and made it seem as if people who are part of the tattoo culture couldn't possibly raise their child in a normal fashion...BIG THUMBS DOWN!!!

I wish they had this book when my daughter was little! Perfect for the alternative parent -- it's hysterical. Whether they fill it out or not (don't know why you wouldn't want too!) it makes a great gift. I bought this for my tattoo artist and his wife who are expecting their first child. Can't wait to give it to them!
Great take on the common baby book theme. Bought this for my friends who are expecting their first child and they loved it! We even decided they would start recording things the baby experienced within the womb (Such as his first time in Lockup when we all toured Alcatraz). They absolutely loved the book and were so excited to add these "special" memories to the others being kept in traditional memory books!Very clever gift for the nontraditional or laid back couples. We all have tattoos so we got an extra kick out of the title.
Although its The size of a childrens book I realllly like this baby book. I think a different binding would be a better choice as well because after you put in pictures and things the book won't even close. But it suites our needs perfectly as its not a pastelle cutesie nauseating baby book. And people looooove to look through it over and over again where traditional baby books are booooooreing. I purchased several alternative baby books and this one is my favorite!
