Jonathan A. Smith is Professor of Psychology at Birkbeck University of London, UK where he leads the interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) research group. He has written many articles applying IPA to a range of areas in health, clinical and social psychology. He is co- author (with Paul Flowers and Michael Larkin) of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis: Theory, Method and Research (Sage, 2009). He also has a wider interest in qualitative psychology generally and has co-edited a number of books in the area.

This is my selected methodology and this is the best book to clearly understand the topic. Great details, easy to read, and it has been a big help in my research.

This book is a good introduction to IPA. It is well written and should prove useful for the experienced researcher and the graduate student alike. What I especially appreciated was the way the authors compared and contrasted their method with other qualitative methods. While I am not sure I will actually use IPA in my research, I believe I could do so with this book as a guide.

Used this text as the main text for the my doctorate research method. Essential reading if you using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) as a research method for your study or writing a paper. Explains the main features of IPA and gives great examples of IPA in action. Available in Kindle version too and it is handy to have both. The Kindle version allows you to search the book very quickly for key words.

I am a doctoral student in occupational therapy using IPA as the method to study the lived experiences of older mothers who live with their adult sons who have intellectual disabilities. I initially found IPA as I was looking for a phenomenological approach to my topic. This book is enormously useful as it clearly articulates the theoretical/philosophical underpinnings of IPA (yes, phenomenology and hermeneutics can be understood and used in research!). In addition, it outlines a methodological approach to IPA without being too formulaic or rigid. Certainly some of the contents will be familiar to those who have read as much about IPA as they can get their hands on (like me) but having it all in one place is fabulously helpful. The timing of publication of this book was perfect for me.

This is one of several of the texts I utilized when doing my doctoral dissertation research. It is well written--even interesting!!--and clearly explains the methodological approach utilized. I recommend it for anyone considering qualitative studies.

Great book with beautiful pictures!First of all I was surprised that is was such a large and comprehensivebook. It covers the major races in the US, with pro-tips for each race. The book also includes great tips regarding bikepacking and biketouring. But the images in the book is what really stand out. Great pictures, great photography well edited on good quality paper. This book doubles as a coffe table book that I pick up when I got the time to just browse through and watch the pictures and get inspired.Can't think of any cons except that Nick missed my country Sweden in the book ;-) though to his defence we don't have any big gravel race here, that I know of at least. But this book has got me so inspired so who knows, perhaps there will be one in the north of Sweden in a future nearby.

This is an incredible book! The book itself is high quality with good paper and crisp, clear photos. The format is laid out very well with a good mix of reading content and photos. It really drew me in and kept me turning the pages. There was not a single dull or boring page in the book

This is an awesome book! I vacillated for months as to whether to buy it, thinking it would be one-dimensional, but it turned out to be an amazing resource for all kinds of cycling: road, gravel, mountain, touring, bikepacking. There are wonderful vignettes of gravel rides all over the world, plenty for the bucket list. And plenty of solid advice to give one confidence to get out there. I'll be keeping this one on the shelf!

I love this book! I am dreaming of all the gravel adventures I could participate in. The chapter on gravel bikes just makes me drool. Oh to have more vacation! Book quality is nice - good paper - nice photography.

Not only does Gravel Cycling offer enjoyable reading and all the information I had hoped for, the book also features beautiful photos on most pages. This is the type of book screaming to be read on the printed page. I highly recommend purchasing a physical copy.

I needed a planner that would enable me to be a bit more organized, but without the extra frills (my last one had a lot of habit tracking, life balance, etc). I also wanted something that would highlight my serious personality. This one is perfect for me. Its letter size, which leaves lots of room for notes, appointments, etc (the font is also bigger, which is nice because I hate wearing my glasses). I love the layout of this planner and hope to find something like this for next year. The ONLY reason I gave this 4 stars was because of the matte cover. It was cute for the first day, it looked great. Though sticky kid fingers fixed that right away. Doesn't affect the function, I just like to bitch.

Awesome cover! Love the matte finishing, makes it look very stylish. Bought is for daily use in my start-up and it’s actually pretty perfect! Ample space for notes and to write my day-to-day stuff. The vision board is also a nice add-on!

The overall design is good. The cover is very thin, if you plan to take this book everywhere you go or to trips, it will not stay in good shape. The inner blocks of pages detach very easily from the cover.

Super awesome planner! It gives me plenty of space to write out my daily to do list and upcoming events. Fits in my backpack, because I frequently forget to write things down, so it’s nice to have on hand.

I don't love this book. While it's cute and might be popular as a grab bag gift, the information included is minimal, the book is very small and because so, the price point isn't ideal.

Its a great book but the lollipops wouldn't stay hard

Very creative and fun book!! The images are truly lip-smacking! Recipes are super easy to follow and the lollipops make for great party favors and gifts. I never thought I could make my own lollipops and was surprised how delicious they came out to be.

A beautifully illustrated and the recipes are great to follow. The recipes are very creative and there is one of every occasion.

Loved it! I'm already a fan of Luxe Lollies (I've seen them at a baby shower, bridal shower and weddings). The book made a great gift for my mom, who always used to make us candy growing up. She was so excited by the flavor combinations she had never thought of before. I really like that the author experiments with such creative (and delicious) flavors, flirty presentation and that she uses her business to support good causes. Mom and I are really looking forward to tasting these recipes together!

Outstanding text, used for collegiate level introductory class in electronic music. Great illustrations, great coverage in a way that works with severak different software and hardware systems, and various tools for sound manipulation, recording, music notation, and other musical applications.

I was thrown into teaching a music technology class at my school and this book has been so useful. I use it all the time to review certain aspects and to comprise lesson plans around the content. It goes into interesting detail and makes things easy to understand.

Solid course book but a little too wordy at times. Wish it was more technically written..personal preference. It seemed more geared toward the fine arts student than than the technical major.

This is a great book! My professor used this for her class and I enjoyed it. I didn't get through the whole book but there is so much information within this text. It is useful because I can always report back to it when I need to. I am not planning on reselling this text because it will be useful to me.

This book was my first "introduction to music technology," and most of the information in it is still up-to-date. Obviously, some of the technology and computer software will have been updated by now, but the general principles contained in this book are an invaluable resource for any music engineer, singer/songwriter, or composer.

It is a very detailed book and it has all you need to get started with music technology.

I really like this book and it has a lot of detail. Really well written and an easy read. I got it for my recording arts class.
